So what does a Content Moderator do?
Think of yourself as someone who will ensure high-quality and safe experiences for people and businesses across various social media platforms. You will be instrumental in keeping our online world engaging, appropriate, and SAFE. You will enforce our client’s terms of use by carefully monitoring and reporting abuse on their platform. You will review content such as videos, news stories, still pictures, political ads, and social media profiles. You will then score this content on areas such as age-appropriateness, level of violence, sexual content, and political transparency. At times you may review disturbing content which may include child exploitation and abuse, animal torture, gang violence, murder or hate speech.
In order to support you, we will provide:
- Full training
- Wellness coaching sessions to ensure awareness of wellness resources and to ensure job adjustment

- Daily time to participate in wellness activities such as dance parties, fitness challenges, on-site wellness programs, video games, and team development exercises.

- At least one year's experience in a customer experience environment. (Preferred)
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Strong written communication skills and most importantly empathy
- Cultural awareness and general understanding of political and social situations

As a Content Moderator, you will be instrumental in keeping our online world engaging, appropriate, and safe. You will apply a content policy to digital content and execute handling procedures with consistency. The best candidates are able to identify subtle differences in the meaning of digital communication and accurately enforce the client’s terms of use by carefully monitoring reports of abuse on the site. You will atively participate in employee assistance programs, program reporting initiatives and training to foster the well-being of you and the employee community. A Content Moderator will escalate through appropriate channels any changes that may impact performance or as necessary to maintain required KPIs. You will also adhere to security measures, confidentiality, and other project requirements in any way related to your work.
So what does all this mean for your day-to-day? In the Content Moderator role, you will be working on a computer each day reviewing content such as videos, news stories, still pictures, political ads, and social media profiles. You will then score this content on areas such as age-appropriateness, level of violence, sexual content, and political transparency. In order to properly identify all of these items, you will be trained on how to enforce the client’s policies, and then use these policies to support the overall business.
As a Content Moderator, you understand the importance of working hard and having fun! You will be given daily time to participate in wellness activities such as dance parties, fitness challenges, on-site wellness programs, video games, and team development exercises. Do you have what it takes to be a Content Moderator?
Requirements
What is it we’re looking for? Well since this is a Content Moderator we need someone with at least one year prior operations experience in shared services or a customer experience environment. What else?
We also need someone with at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be bilingual in Hungarian, Italian, Dutch. French, Czech, French, or German (C1/C2) and English (B2/C1) speaking and writing
Now let’s get technical.
We’re looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills and most importantly empathy. Someone who has a high affinity and cultural awareness of political and social situations regarding the relevant market and region that will be supported.

As a content moderator it is important for you to know the potential risks related to this type of work. While TaskUs is focused on employee wellness by having counselors on-site, resiliency programming, and other wellness initiatives, exposure to graphic and disturbing content is unavoidable. Some individuals with a sensitivity to viewing graphic or disturbing content may be at risk for developing distress, mental health symptoms, or, in rare instances, Secondary Traumatic Stress based on the content they are viewing.
TaskUs reserves the right to reassign content moderators to other TaskUs projects based on staffing needs, employee performance, and other considerations. In order to help create a community that is safe for all employees, the Resiliency and Wellness Team takes an active role in the primary prevention of mental health concerns through direct practice efforts, e-learning, skills training, and outreach efforts to the TaskUs community. Our programs seek to raise awareness about psychological issues, challenge ideas that contribute to social inequity, disempowerment, and discrimination, as well as the underlying structures that support them. In addition, our programs empower employees to find and use their voices in a healthy and productive way.
